"It's scary having two little beings depending on you."

"In life we deal with a lot of pressures, some single mums more than others. Within the heights you've got the scares, the times you feel that every decision you make is the wrong one."
Mothers from the Melton South Single Mums Lunch Group

The Worry

"Once they leave home you worry a lot more."
Mother from the Horizons Women's Group

"I'm still learning. It's hard sometimes. I always worry about the kids - how they eat, what they do. Sometimes it's difficult to say no, to teach them what is good and bad, and to establish the limits. It's up and down."
Mother from the Spanish-Speaking Mothers Group

"When my kids don't listen it makes it hard. My mum lives in the desert so we don't get to see her much. I would advise other mothers to be strong because in the end it is all worth it."
Mother from the Indigenous Parents Playgroup
